Drifter Bonehead
The Drifter is a tribute to the miners who carved Sudbury's future from the Canadian Shield. Named after the mining tunnels, known as drifts, that stretch deep beneath the earth following veins of ore, this Bonehead honors generations who descended into darkness in search of copper and nickel. Cast in clear resin and transformed through electroplating, real copper is grown across its surface through chemistry and electricity, echoing the same elemental forces that formed the minerals hidden underground long before they were ever uncovered by human hands.
Resting within a fractured geode and wearing a weathered miner's hardhat, the Drifter stands as a small monument to resilience, craftsmanship, and Northern Ontario's industrial heritage. The copper finish recalls both the wealth drawn from the rock and the passage of time, while the exposed stone base reminds us that every city built above the surface is supported by stories buried far below it. Part relic, part memorial, the Drifter belongs to the Bonehead Collection, where every skull carries a history worth unearthing.
